Privacy Policy

GenerateQR is a free, login-free QR code generator. We've built it to respect your privacy by default. This page explains exactly what we do and don't do with your data.

What we collect

Almost nothing. The QR generator runs entirely in your browser — your URLs, contact data, and uploaded logos never leave your device unless you explicitly download a file (which goes from your device to your local Downloads folder).

We use Vercel Analytics for aggregate, anonymized page-view counts. No personally identifying information, no IP storage beyond standard web-server logs, no advertising profile, no selling or sharing of data.

Cookies & local storage

We use a small number of localStorage keys (all prefixed generateqr.*) to track your daily generation count, recent QRs history, and preferences. No tracking cookies, no advertising cookies.

API requests

Calls to our public REST API at /api/v1/generate are rate-limited per IP. Logs of these requests are kept for 30 days for abuse detection and discarded afterward.

Third parties

GenerateQR is hosted on Vercel. Anonymous request logs are visible to Vercel as part of standard hosting operations. We use Google Fonts for web typography, served via Next.js's self-hosted font pipeline so no requests go to Google at runtime.
